Fleece Exhaust Brake install with stainless diesel 2nd gen swap kit
Переглядів 12 тис.4 роки тому
This video is intended to provide insight to what is needed to install a fleece electronic exhaust brake on a stainless diesel 2nd gen swap kit. There are many different 2nd gen swap kits available but fleece has marketed their exhaust brake to be a bolt on kit for their 2nd gen kit specifically. Since this isn’t a fleece 2nd gen kit, it was not a bolt on deal. However, the issues I expected to...

    Nice find looks like it's got some life left in it. I found one of these in the woods of Massachusetts and I visit it quite often on my bike. It's been there a long time and is 1/4 way sunken into the ground. When I first found it there were still some pieces left but now it's been picked clean. I did get the emblem though. I often think who would have pit road a Fleetwood Cadilac to it's death...shame on them. Anyway good luck with yours and keep her going!

    Great Light output. I would have to guess, people are going to flash you. They sometimes flash me with the original halogen fog lights and headlights. Not that its hard to switch them off when traffic is coming. I think you will have lots of heads up time when it comes to seeing the ninja deer hiding in the ditch.

    • @jmlcolorado
      @jmlcolorado 2 роки тому

      To elaborate more, with the XB headlights, I can still clearly see the cutoff line of them. The dogs do not wash out that line at all. But they do an excellent job filling on all the dim spots of light between the front of the truck, all the way up to the cutoff of the headlights. They light up the shoulders very well as well. They are an excellent addition to the xb’s and absolute light years agjead of stock projectors and stock fogs. As far as fog/snow driving is concerned, I suspect they will wash out quite of but sure to their color and brightness. Yellow would certainly help with that.

    I wouldn’t worry about it until you have more weight on it. That should be more towards the end of your build. If the driven member is -2.0 then your pinion should be +2.0. U joints angles need to be within 3 degrees of each other within a .5 degree. There’s other factor la too but you should get the build closer to where it’s going to be with the weight on it. Then start your angle measurements for your driveline.

    to lower the suspension, remove several leaf springs from the front and add air bags. on the rear, re-drill the holes for the suspension mounts and bump stops higher on the frame. you can get 2"-4" of drop pretty easily. i like the car hauler idea. i have wanted to do it to trucks many of times but i never see them sell for enough money to warrant all the time and cost to build it that way. i think that truck shortened and lowered with a late 40's era style of pick up truck bed would sell well....fabricated into a crew cab would be even better.

    Heyyyy , i have the same issue now , i replaced the turbo and it dose exactly like in this video , did u had it fixed , the shop that replaced the turbo has no ideea what to do , i think they didn't positioned the actuator 100% , mine is a 2016 ram 3500 6.7, deleted for over 160k milles ,

    • @jmlcolorado
      @jmlcolorado 3 роки тому

      I don’t think it’s actuator related in your case. The reason I say that is I still have the same issue. I have since done a 2nd gen swap with s467. I’ve also installed the fleece electronic exhaust brake. I still have the smoke issue. The real only thing I HAVNT changed is the injectors which are stockers with 235k miles on them. When the truck is cold, it smokes on startup now as well. I suspect my injectors are beginning to wear.

    How hard would it be to build a rollback on a bus chassis

    • @jmlcolorado
      @jmlcolorado 3 роки тому

      Piece of cake. A bus chassis is no different than any other commercial Truck chassis. Same width and everything. In this case, it would be as simple as installing one for an international since that’s all this is. But all the manufacturers follow same chassis widths (outside to outside of frame) I think it’s 32” or 34”. Can’t recall exactly. So basically any rollback for a heavy duty chassis will fit.

I never really found a use for this truck and quite honestly, don’t know why I built it 🤣 I think of it doesn’t sell, I’ll get back on it this summer to make it a dove tail car hauler with a winch on a giant headache rack. Throw some shiny wheels on it and it’ll sell.

    I've never liked the FTE "twister" resonator. To me, it looks cheaply made. Like they just found an old auger bit laying around, wraped it in tin, and put one weld in it. The turbine SOUNDS far better, and looks like it was actually engineered. Thanks for the video.
